Emergency Couple

For those who are tired of those dramas today having stories about women getting divorced and will probably go revenge against his ex-husband, well, here is a new Korean drama that will surprise you. This Korean drama entitled Emergency Couple which is a different one because it exceeded my expectation on how the story would probably go. Having major roles are Korean actress Song Ji-hyo as Oh Jin-hee and Korean actor Choi Jin-hyuk as Oh Chang-min. The drama itself revolves around the fate of two ex-couple being reunited once again. Although both are having mindsets and intuition to stay away from each other, their hearts slowly wanted to be together again.

Oh Chang-min and Oh Jin-hee married each other, believing it was true love. Oh Chang-min decided to marry her even without the approval of his parents because of course Oh Jin-hee is not suitable for him. As time went by, their relationship started to become blurry because they were full of each other’s attitude and it seemed that they’ve fallen out of love already. One night, they started breaking and destroying each other’s valuable things and ended up ruining their picture when they were married. Mutually, they decided to sign a divorce and ended the miserable chapter of their love story.

Oh Chang-min graduated finally in a medical school and he is now an intern in a hospital. Oh Jin-hee also studied medicine and was able to be an intern as well. Coincidence perhaps or fate can only tell how on earth it was possible for them to work in the same hospital and in the same group. When they realized they were on the same boat, the glare on their eyes was evident that hate was still there and they knew that this won’t work well for the both of them. By this peculiar happening, they find themselves enduring with each other’s personality again and they kept their divorce a secret from all their teammates.

The entire plot and episodes of this drama is a fresh concept and will surely delight the viewers. They have to watch how will they keep their secret hidden and how will they handle every situation in the hospital, specifically what has been assigned to them, the emergency room. This drama will tell you a lesson on how people and the once they had loved reunite with each other because of that small residue of feelings they still had. It simply depicts a certain reminder of what made you fall in love with your special someone. And because you are reminded, you’ll just find your heart fluttering again and fall in love once again.

Personal Taste

Can you picture out a real man being able to pretend as a gay to pursue his goal? This Korean drama entitled Personal Taste is a romantic comedy. Together with Lee Min Ho as Jeon Jin-ho who is an architect and Son Ye-jin as Park Kae-In, a woman who is a furniture designer. You definitely have to watch how funny these two people will cross each other’s path. But in every love story there is always that surprising challenge that will test their bond.

Park Sae-In (Son Ye-jin) is a daughter of the famous architect who built the Sanggojae, a modernized hanok (traditional Korean house). She works as a furniture designer and her products are very creative. This girl is very trusting and gullible; no wonder why her boyfriend broke up with her and cheated on her. When she received a wedding invitation from her friend Kim In-hee (Wang Ji-hye), she figured out upon entering the wedding hall that her friend was about to marry her ex-boyfriend.  Shocked and depressed about what happened to her love life, she swore that she will never love again.

On the other side, Jeon Jin-ho (Lee Min-ho) is a perfectionist and an architect, who wants to win a project bid for the Dam Art Center. And he wanted to win the favor of the Dam Art Center director to win.  He found out that the director likes the Sanggojae, so he then wanted to live inside that modernized hanok, to see what and how it was built but then it was never opened to the public. He tried to figure out a way in getting inside the house. Fortunately for Jeon Jin-ho, Park Sae-In (Son Ye-jin) was looking for a new roommate excluding a male roommate but he will then discover a way to surpass this.

In order for Jeon Jin-ho to live inside Sanggojae, he had to pretend being a gay to observe the house. Despite of having his true personality hidden, he will then slowly develop feelings for Park Sae-In. And Park Sae-In on the other hand, although confused, still had fallen in love with her roommate. What makes this drama epic is that the scenes in each episode are incredibly humorous knowing the true color of the protagonist and he tries to act and pretend. The drama itself reflects on how people dwell with their feelings and how you can't stop your heart beating for that someone you know you shouldn't have loved in the first place.

Cantabile Tomorrow

When it’s hard for you to imagine what the music world would look like then you definitely have to watch this new Korean drama entitled Cantabile Tomorrow. This drama is a romantic comedy and I just can’t fathom how I felt when I watched this one.   Having major roles in this drama series are Joo Won as Cha Yoo-jin who is the son of a famous pianist and Shim Eun-kyung as Seol Nae-il a simple girl whose major class is piano. The two of them will find their way to create a perfect harmony to create music that will make their hearts soar.

Cha Yoo-jin (Joo Won) is a student majoring in piano, excels in the university in spite of his father being famous pianist. He is attractive, musically talented and he wanted to be a conductor but his trauma becomes a hindrance in traveling to Europe for him to learn and study conducting. One night he was drunk and when he woke up he found himself in a room full of trash and a very untidy place. Seeing his expression, he was a bit frustrated and surprised when he saw and heard Seol Nae-il (Shim Eun Kyung) playing piano. He then warns her not to say anything about what happened and tells her nothing happened.

Meeting Seol Nae-il would be considered as an unlucky event in his life but it will eventually change. He found out that his new teacher is also her teacher. When the two were assigned to perform together, at first Cha Yoo-jin was against it but the teacher bribed him if he would do it then he would have a high grade. Obviously, he accepted it.  When Seol Nae-il heard him play the piano, she noticed that her heart started beating fast, so she ran immediately outside the room. This day has come and she knew right at that moment that cupid hit her with one of his arrows and she came to Yoo-jin directly confessing her love.

With Seol Nae-il’s quirky and persistent personality she pushes herself right next to Cha Yoo-jin which I find hilarious because she has this unique way of making us laugh about her way on pursuing Yoo-jin. Their venture in the music world is tough and sometimes you can consider it as out of tune but believing in one’s ability is essential in reaching their dreams. This drama is filled with melody and tunes that express their emotions and passion towards music. Its essence is entirely about playing and creating music through one’s emotion and heart. And if you do really love music, even if challenges may come to you, you yourself must know that you shouldn’t let go of the thing you love doing the most.

It's Okay, That's Love

There is no other Korean drama that is crazier than It’s Okay That’s Love. The genre of this series is mainly romance but there’s a bit of bizarre events in the story that makes it even weird. Starring Jo In-Sung as Jang Jae-yeol who is a novelist and a DJ, Gong Hyo-jin as Ji Hae-soo who is a psychiatrist, Sung Dong-il as Jo Dong-min who is a senior colleague of Ji Hae-soo, Lee Kwang-soo as Park Soo-kwang who is a waiter with a Tourette Syndrome and Do Kyung-soo as Han Kang-woo who is a student and fan of Jang Jae-yeol. With this group of people having slight mental disorder, you will surely be left with your jaws hanging wide open in shock of these episodes with them. These people will live under the same roof and it is a must watch drama because of course who wouldn’t be curious of what will happen with this kind of environment with different types of personalities.

In spite of having an awful past, Jan Jae-yeol, as a man of today, has been more successful regardless of what he has faced through the years of his childhood. Being a mystery fiction novelist gained him popularity and overwhelming embrace from the people. And during this live show on TV he will meet this smart and compassionate psychiatrist named Ji Hae-soo (Gong Hyo-jin). This meeting made Jang Jae-yeol (Jo In-sung) gain interest of her. But then Ji Hae-soo is a girl who is hard to get so Jang Jae-yeol finds pursuing her a challenging one.

Coincidence or maybe fate brought him to his new apartment where Ji Hae-soo also lives along with her two roommates Jo Dong-min and Park Soo-kwang. There he witnessed the weird environment of group who has peculiar habits and personalities. He realized how tough it was to catch Ji Hae-soo because she was sharp and she doesn’t fall for his traps.  A pause was needed for chasing Ji Hae-soo because he learned that she had a boyfriend. But because of his insensitive behavior he ended up ruining the relationship of Ji Hae-soo and her boyfriend unintentionally. Thus it becomes an opportunity for their relationship to bloom.

Within the episodes of this drama is a series of stories of the people having some disorders. You see, there times when we come to think of how odd a person can be and we lead to concluding and judging him right away. But then this drama teaches how to be considerate for those people who undergo counseling to treat their disorders. And sometimes these people with their problems tend to feel lonely hiding in the cave. The struggle to stay in darkness is a challenge that a person must overcome but we always have those people who bring the light and making you come out from that cave to let you see the brightness of life has to offer. If  there is a light that you can see even if it’s little, there is hope in your journey and you don’t have to carry all the weight.

High School Love On

A heart fluttering Korean drama I came to discover is entitled High School Love On. With a genre romantic teen fantasy drama you will surely enjoy the fluttering episodes that this drama will offer. Starring Kim Sae-ron as Lee Seul-bi the girl who was once an angel, Nam Woo-hyun as Shin Woo-hyun the guy who grew up with his grandmother and Lee Sung-yeol as Hwang Sung-yeol the guy who always top at school but he is a loner. Destiny seems to intertwine the fate of these three young teenagers and together they’ll face the obstacles and fun in high school. However, in every story there is that sudden plot twist that really destructs the entire flow of the story.

Shin Woo-hyun (Nam Woo-hyun) is a high school student who grew up without remembering the face of his mother whom he is longing for some time.  He dearly treasures her grandmother because she was the one who raised him and took care of him. When he comes to school he had this confidence in him because he knew he was good-looking but this handsomeness led him to trouble. There was this girl who was really in love with Woo-hyun but then he doesn’t feel the same way. The mother of this girl came suddenly rushing and slapping Woo-hyun inside the classroom because according to her he was seducing her daughter, the girl who was rejected by Woo-hyun.

Now, there was this angel who was waiting the soul of the person who will die and eventually will guide him to where his soul should be brought. The girl Woo-hyun rejected decides to threaten to jump over the building if he won’t love her back. So this angel got confused as to whether which soul will she get Woo-hyun or the girl. Woo-hyun ends up saving her and he in her stead falling down the building. The angel got a quick response to the happenings unknowingly she has saved Woo-hyun from dying but in return she suddenly became human. This is how destiny between the two will start and their journey towards their future.

You definitely have to watch how this angel named Lee Seul-bi (Kim Sae-ron) adapts emotions of the humans which will make her heart change in the road that she has to choose in the end. You have to make sure how this love story becomes a cute love-triangle. This Korean drama reflects how each of us deals with one ordeal that life may give us. But then there is always that someone who gives you the courage and the strength to face it. This story also teaches us how to forgive the person who once abandoned you and how to build the bond of your family again. This drama is surely worth watching because it has these elements that you yourself can relate to.

The Suspicious Housekeeper

The Suspicious Housekeeper is an overwhelming drama that would soften the hearts of the viewers. This Korean drama is a melodramatic one about family healing process and building their bonds once again. Starring Choi Ji-woo as Park Bok-nyeo a woman who serves as the housekeeper of the Gyeol family, Lee Sung-jae as Eun Sang-chul the man who is the head of the Gyeol family, Wang Ji-hye as Yoon Song-hwa the woman who had an affair with Eun Sang-chul and Kim So-hyun as the eldest sister of the family. You’ll tend to be more curious as to why the housekeeper acts that why. The family seems to be in turmoil because of the sudden truth that was being spoken and revealed.

The Gyeol family experienced a sudden death and a sad truth about their mother being completely gone in their arms. This brought devastation to the four kids and the question keeps running in their mind that why their mother did left suddenly leaving them behind and they kept on wondering if she wasn’t thinking about them when she was committing suicide. A confession was made by their father that he had an affair that’s why their mother committed suicide. Leaving the children confused and angered by the bitter truth they blamed and disowned their father. This dilemma will then bring some unexpected events and more intriguing events.

Miss Bok-nyeo, as how they would address their housekeeper is a really uncanny one. She is very known for a very fine work when it comes to housekeeping and all sorts of things. What’s odd about her is that she never smiles, she does every order you’ll say like literally, and she has this personality you can compare to a robot or even a living corpse. Because of these bizarre personalities she has the four kids including their father suspects her identity and grows more curious as to who she really is. The four siblings wanted to seek comfort and guidance to her but then again she would just coldly refuse and say it is not her matter to enter with.

You really don’t have to judge a person with its cover because you never know what they have gone through to be the person they are today.  Unexpectedly, the person you never rely on becomes the pillar and the support of everyone. A family can and may experience hurdles in life but it doesn’t mean that your family is not worth fighting for. A broken family can be mended for as long as everyone has the heart to forgive and start again. With this drama, essential family lessons will be taught and it will move your heart and change your perspective in dealing similar ordeals.

Master's Sun

The Korean Drama entitled as Master’s Sun was written by the Hong sisters from South Korea.  People who are fond of watching horror would likely to enjoy this drama series and in addition it is also a romantic-comedy drama that would surely exceed your expectations. Starring So Ji-sub as Joo Joong-won who is a guy that owns the department store ‘Kingdom’, Gong Hyo-jin as Tae Gong-sil who is a girl who can see ghosts, Seo In-guk as Kang Woo who is a guy that would be the head of the security in the department store and lastly Kim Yoo-ri as Tae Yi-ryung who constalntly looks down on Tae Gong-sil our protagonist. Joo Joong-won is as cold as a glacier and is a parsimonious CEO who meets Tae Gong-sil a woman who is gloomy and peculiar in a rainy evening. Tae Gong-sil who was standing at the side of the street thumbing for a ride was nearly ignored by Joo Joong-won who was inside the car but then a bright light suddenly showed up making the car stop.

When the wound is still open because you can’t forget it, it’s like rubbing salt in it which makes you feel the pain more.  When you’ve experienced and witnessed your loved one die in front of your eyes would probably bring trauma and distress to you. Joo Joong-won (So Ji-sub) faced a very depressing past. Aside his past owning an extravagant shopping mall made him calculative and arrogant. Everything relates to him in terms of money.

Tae Gong-sil was involved in an accident few years back. This incident changed her whole life in an instant and it made her unable to live a normal life. A person who has the ability to see and hear ghosts would make your intuition conclude to stay away from that person. Living in a rooftop and earning money through doing odd jobs inside the building where she stays. On that rainy evening it was fate which made way for the two to meet and she realized that when she’s near Joo Joong-won all the ghost disappears so therefore she made a decision to work at Kingdom.

This drama is not just like any other dramas which focus on the love story between the lovers but rather it also shows other’s story. The ability that of Tae Gong-sil’s was the key in helping the souls solve their problems left in our world. She was also able to aid the wound that remained in Joo Joong-won’s heart. In this story you’ll be able to realize that the courage to love someone and to let them know how you feel is essential in a relationship. Flower Boy Ramyun Shop

The Korean drama ‘Flower Boy Ramen Shop’ is a romantic comedy about four “pretty boys” that operates a ramen shop together with a girl. The main characters are Yang Eun-bi (Lee Chung-ah) the 25 year old girl who’s studying to be a teacher, Cha Chi-soo (Jung Il-woo) is the only son of the owner and the president of a food conglomerate called Chasung, Choi Kang-hyuk (Lee Ki-woo) the guy who inherited the ramen shop from Yang Eun-bi’s father, Kim Ba-wool (Park Min-woo) is the guy who is also called as the crazy chicken and Jo Yoon-woo (Woo Hyun-woo) is the guy who has the personality of an angel. Together they work and flourish the shop with their charisma and personality. But the difference of their social statuses, Cha Chi-soo and the rest, becomes the root of their misunderstandings and feud. It is in the end that makes them realize the sacrifices and pain Cha Chi-soo faced and felt.

When maturity strikes humanity money comes first on the list. Everything that keeps the world living and spinning is money. Cha Chi-soo is someone who grew in a cold environment and having everything without facing any hard work to earn his wealth, he is someone who doesn’t know anything about reality and its warmness. Time came, something he truly desires which is someone he loves, can’t be bought by money. That’s when he realizes money isn’t everything.

Cha Chi-soo meets the strong girl Yang Eun-bi in peculiar circumstances. After bumping into her for several times he innocently didn’t knew he was hit by one of Cupid’s arrows. He curiously asks Yoon-woo his friend what he feels and describes it to him. He couldn’t believe that he felt those kinds of feelings because he didn’t feel that way before. However he has come to realize that he felt that his heart was boiling whenever he sees her and confessed he was in love.

At the end of the final episode the voiceover of Kang-hyuk says, “Other things don’t really matter. Ramen just tastes best when it’s eaten at the moment it’s boiling over.” The ramen represents the heart of a person. Just when they realize that it’s boiling it is better to follow your heart rather than what your mind thinks. It is then they feel no regret and love just overflows within them. Love makes people rich because it fills their hearts with joy and happiness.

You Who Came From The Stars

Another Korean drama entitled “My Love From Another Star’ became a trend on the television. The dramatic and humorous drama makes the viewers feel hilarious about the epic combination of scenes which hooks them up. The main cast includes Kim Soo-hyun as Do Min-joon who’s a cold and distant guy, Jun Ji-hyun as Cheon Song-yi who’s a top celebrity actress, Park Hae-jin as Lee Hwi-kyung who’s love for Song-yi never faded, and Yoo In-na as Yoo Se-mi who’s Song-yi’s bestfriend that envies her. The plot is very remarkable because it’s about two lovers with different worlds.

An unforgettable quote given by Do Min-joon was, “If it is supposed to happen, it will happen. Earthlings call it fate.” Yes it was indeed fate that led him to Earth. He was an extraterrestrial being who accidentally crashed on Earth during the Joseon era in Korea. Well, just like a typical alien he has supernatural powers like enhanced vision, hearing and agility. He stayed on earth for almost 400 years until the present day and works as a professor in a university.

It was fate that destined Do Min-joon And Cheon Song-yi. He then recalls that Song-yi resembles his first love during the Joseon era who died saving him. Song-yi is a successful actress, she is very blunt and thinks that all men are interested in her. When she meets Min-joon her perpective about men interested in her fell apart. That’s when she tries very hard to catch his attention but ended up falling for him and planned to make him fall for her too.

What’s spectacular about this drama is that the way how the story goes and its scenes are just too amusing and it never fails to surprise and infatuate the viewers. There may be obstacles in the end that will affect you emotionally but the ending is sweet. The thing is, people might be unique in their own but their differences makes them compatible to each other. If you truly love a person you won’t care who and what he/she is as long as your feelings are mutual it would suffice. Obstacles in a relationship won’t be absent but you’ll just have to face it together to surpass and make your bond stronger.

THE HEIRS

Written at the end of Kim Tan’s journal the professor read, “One who wants to wear the crown, bears the crown.” The quote simply captures the attention of the professor and wonders what Kim Tan wrote implies. Kim Tan knew that very moment he had to go back and manage to handle the dilemma between him and his older brother. He thought countless of times why his brother gives him a cold shoulder but in fact he loves him dearly and thinks high of him. Everything changes when he leaves and love sometimes can be unexpected and it grabbed him to fall for it.

The series entitled as ‘The Heirs’ is a story about a group of prosperous, affluent, and upper class students in which are about to inherit the business empire of their family. These students attends to  Empire High, a school exclusively for them.  There is a hierarchy within the students: the "Management Succession Group" at the top, in which Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho), Rachel Yoo (Kim Ji Won), and Choi Young Do (Kim Woo-bin) belong, then the "Stock Shares Inheritance Group", with people such as Lee Bo Na (Krystal Jung), the "Honor Inheritance Group", with Jo Myung Soo (Park Hyung Shik) and Lee Hyo Shin (Kang Ha Neul), and the "Social Care Group" at the bottom, in which Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye) and Yoon Chan Young (Kang Min-hyuk) are both part of. The students which belong to the “Social Care Group” are usually being bullied. But among those students Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye) has never revealed she was part of that group for she was being protected by her knight and shining armor Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho).

This romantic drama starts when Kim Tan being exiled in California meets the girl named Cha Eun Sang who’s also from Korea. Cha Eun Sang searching for her sister in California knew that time her sister was lying. A boy named Jay who drunk was got her bean powder from her luggage sniffed it unknowingly that it wasn’t drugs. Allergic to bean powder Kim Tan his friend rushed him to the hospital together with Cha Eun Sang. And then to make the spoiler short Kim Tan offers Cha Eun Sang to stay in his house for a while because she had nowhere else to go. And it was destiny who made way for them to know each other.

Gosh I really loved their scenes together when they were in California. When Kim Tan made her a sandwich, when Kim Tan brought her to his school, when they were running to avoid those who were chasing them, when they were wearing their couple shirts and the best part would be when Kim Tan asked Cha Eun Sang unconsciously in the movie theater, “Could it be I’m falling for you?” I would like to recommend this to those who are bored and nothing to do please do watch this. It would make you cry, infatuated, annoyed, irritated and etc. That’s what I felt all that time when I was watching the 20 episodes. You won’t regret watching it and for me it’s one of the best and my favorites.

Korean Dramas

What is the charm of korean dramas? Why is it so popular world wide? Korean dramas have it's own distinctive features in which viewers will be attracted to watch it. And what's eminent about it is it's own uniqueness on how the plot goes and twists.  Their genres include romantic comedy, science fictions, melodrama, action, and etc. What I love most are dramas that are heartwarming and funny at the same time because for me it gives people joy, laughter, and insights.
